Introducing the Valentino Resort 2015 Collection. This collection transitioned from the demure classical floral embroidered pieces to retro psychedelic pop art with a few select pieces shot in a completely different setting. The pop art felt closer to polka dots of the Fall / Winter 2014 runway collection. Valentino tends to be designed for different groups, those who want either classic or modern but never both together as they appear to clash. This is apparent in the trendier Rockstud line and the more subdued runway items. Valentino revived a classic design from the brand's runway show in 1973, the rainbow psychedelic print that were featured in the bags and ready-to-wear items. Mexican painter Frida Kahlo was also a source of inspiration for the brand's latest collection as seen on the vibrant colors, floral prints and long flowy dresses.
The Bags and Accessories
The collection features mini and oversized clutch bags, totes and shoulder bags. The shoulder bags this season comes in various designs, rainbow zigzag, studded shoulder straps and stripes. The camouflage butterfly prints makes a return this season, embellished on a tote bag and clutch bag. Bright colored scarves adorned some of the flap bag straps to give an additional dose of color.
