After its price increase last February 2013, Louis Vuitton is having another increase again before the end of October in the US. The price increase for US is expected to be a 4-5% increase on classic bags and approximately 7-8% in newer styles such as the Pallas bag. Louis Vuitton is beginning to make its brand more exclusive by raising its prices to attract more high-end customers. The brand is also focused on using higher quality materials and provide more expensive accessories mainly through its recent Capucines line. LVMH has recently began to experience a slowdown in spending in China affecting its bottom line. This has to do with an economic slowdown in China and also a crackdown by the government on corrupt officials with ostentatious spending and gift giving for visible brands such as Louis Vuitton.
